Think its time I find a new web host for AdventureCraft. In the meantime, the site will be down meaning downloads won't work etc. Any recommendations on web hosts would definitely be appreciated in the comments!
Do personally recommend Powweb. Unlimited bandwidth and storage. At least, that's what I have as being a user of their services for >4 years. Not sure if brand new customers can get the same deal.
Read the blog post, the site is where adventurecraft gets almost all of it's stuff. There is a fix by me posted on the 343 and quoted on the 344 page of the forum but unless you REALLY need to play i would just wait for Cryect to move host and release a fixed installer.

Ad.fly isn't a host. And when he says host, he means something that would allow him to go through a TON of bandwidth. If Dropbox suspends my downloads for to much activity on a regular basis, I can imagine that Cryect's would get overloaded every 5 minutes.
GoDaddy has a pretty slick deal going on right now. I don't know what your old host was, but http://www.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting.aspx is $7.49 month right now.

www.webs.com would work. All you need are like so many people to visit the site (which shouldn't be a problem for you) and you can keep the site up for free, and you update enough that it will not go "inactive". Not very flexible (in what I've seen), but you can organize it well. The only downsides are that you have to have so many visitors and update. You pay for a domain through them and you get a domain name of your choice, like www.adverturecraft.com or something like that.
I'm on dreamhost and loving it. If you choose to go with them, please use my referral link http://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?470699 I get $97 for the referral (o.O) and can send half of that your way if you want. ~Jekotia
I don't recommend godaddy because their products are not realible. Also, unlimmited bandwith doesn't exist, you have to check out their terms and conditions.
ALso, i hired godaddy's services were too awful experience. I recommend a peruvian company, which is web-hostingperu.com. They assist you inmediately trough many ways.
why did all of my maps get deleted? well they are still in my computer but, they don't show up in game. why aren't they showing up?????? Please, I need help. I don't want all of my hard work to go to waist...

ReplyDelete"A Java Exception has occurred." I don't know what it means though
DeleteI reproduced ur error.

ARG this needs to be fixed and soon....My Adventurecraft hangover is at it's worst. :P
ReplyDeleteTry out Hostgator. It's what I use, and I have 60,000 visitors a month.
ReplyDeleteI recommend iHostPro (http://www.ihostpro.co.uk). Really cheap (starting at £0.95/mo), they have been running since 2009, so they aren't leaving.

Search options and stay away from Godaddy
